Exercise Snapshot by Lexy: Animal Catapult

Clubfoot kiddos can always benefit from physiotherapy and exercises in order to:

– built foot and ankle strength

– keep a good range of motion at the ankle

– develop gross motor skills and coordination

– improve balance

– strengthen big muscles in the hips and leg to prevent poor alignment progression

A toy catapult is a great play-based excerise to strengthen and practice balance.

Animal Catapult:  This is one of our favourite excercises! Having a game where you can stomp is a great way to cue momentary single leg balancing. Too easy? Try hovering your foot over the catapult for a desired amount of the time. You can try this same game but with a stomp rocketship!

Getting ready to launch the stuffed animal up into the air!
